Botox Cosmetic
Botox is an injectable filler that is used to treat moderate to severe wrinkles and folds on the face. When we smile, frown, squint, or raise our eyebrows, we use muscles in our face to perform these expressions. Over time, the skin over these muscles loses its elasticity and strength, so it appears creased when the muscles contract. These are called dynamic wrinkles.
Botulinum A, a medicine present in Botox™ can be used to weaken these muscles to a certain degree so these wrinkles do not appear when facial expressions are made.
It is important to note that wrinkles or lines that are present at rest (without facial expression movement), which are called static wrinkles, are not treated by Botox. There is evidence that static wrinkles tend to fade over time with Botox treatment if the patient continues to treat the area.

Botox™ has been used for cosmetic reasons for years and its safety is well known. It is extremely important that patients seek a qualified practitioner for Botox treatment because like any medical procedure, complications can occur if not done correctly.
Dr. Jumaily is trained in Botox administration, and as a highly acclaimed board-certified surgeon, he is most familiar with anatomy and muscles that Botox treats. Our results are natural, without the “surprised” or “overly frozen” look.
The Procedure
Before your Botox treatment, Dr. Jumaily will mark the targeted areas where you will receive your Botox injections. A topical anesthetic may be applied to the areas as well. Then, using a very fine microneedle, Dr. Jumaily will inject Botox into the targeted areas. This procedure typically takes thirty minutes or less.
Downtime and Results
There is no recovery period and minimal downtime after getting Botox injections. You can return to your normal daily activities after getting Botox. You may experience some bruising, swelling, redness and/or pain at the injection site; however, these minor side effects are common and typically disappear within a few days.
You should stay out of direct sunlight after your Botox treatment. If you must be in the sun, be sure to apply sunscreen with SPF on your face, and wear protective clothing, like a hat.
Typically, it takes anywhere from three to ten days to see results from your treatment. Botox usually lasts around three to four months.
Cost of Botox
The cost of Botox depends on the amount of product administered, the number of injections you get, how severe your wrinkles are, and other various factors. If you have any questions about the price of this procedure, be sure to ask Dr. Jumaily during your personalized consultation.
